CD Library II is a new generation of CD storage system. You can find a CD in seconds and you don't have to remember where your CDs are. When you are selecting a CD, the CD Library II will spin to that specific number and pull out the CD. Then you can retrieve the CD and put CD into your CD-ROM drive or DVD drive. CD Library II is a new solution for managing your CDs.

Does CD Library II have a reader build-in? |

No, CD Library II doesn't have a reader build-in. CD Library II is designed for CD storage purpose and provides a small space to store 150 CDs. Saving CDs in CD Library II can prevent dust and scratch. You just need a tiny space for CD Library for storing CDs.

I have 230 CDs, but the capacity of CD Library II is 150 CDs. What should I do? |

For this demand, you need 2 CD Libraries II to set up your storage system. Put the other 80 CDs into the 2nd CD Library II product. The first CD Library II will be set as ID1, and the second CD Library II will be set as ID2. All the database for these 230 CDs will show on our CD Library software. The CD Library II can be stackable as well if you don't have enough space for locating the units. CD Library II has a USB Hub build-in. You don't have to pay extra purchasing the USB hub. You only need tiny space to build your storage system.
(Note: Dacal Company will recommend users to stack the unit up to 5 pieces for each pile)

Does CD Library II work with Computer? |

Yes, CD Library II works with computers via USB port. One PC can control up to 127 CD Library for maximum. That means you can use CD Library to control 19050 CDs for total if all units are connected.
One important information need to be noted. There is a USB Hub limitation from Microsoft Corp. Windows has set 5 Generic USB Hub maximum for one USB port. For example, one computer connects a 4- ports USB HUB, each USB port on the HUB can connect 4 CD Library II, therefore 16 CD Library II machines can be set up in one computer. USB HUB is recognized as "Generic USB HUB"; other words, CD Library II contains a USB HUB as well. If the description still not clear, please check here to see a diagram.

Does CD Library II works with computer only? |

No, CD Library II not only can work with computer, but also can operate it manually. Just press the number on the key pad which is located at right hand side of CD Library II. After selecting the specific number and pressing enter key, the machine will spin and pull out the CD for you. You can see the number changes on the display. Dacal Company provides a book called Management Form that users can use for index purposes. People can use this form to set up their storage system if they will use the CD Library II in stand alone function.

How many ways I can search a specific CD? |

There are 5 ways you can search CD by using CD Library II. You can search by title name, category, content, remark, and pictures. Just click the search tab and you can select the way you preferred to search your CDs.

After I use the CD, I can't remember which slot should be. What can I do? |

Just go to search tab, and search again for your CD. The CD Library II will posit that slot and you can put it back. You won't miss the slot to put wrong place.

If I put my CD in wrong slot, will CD Library II know? |

No, CD Library II can't recognize each CD in the box. Due to there is no reader build-in, CD Library II can not recognize if the CD putting in wrong slot. Just make sure that the slot is the correct one before you put it back.

I am a non-English user. Can I use other language to use the software? |

Yes, our CD Library II software can switch to 9 languages. We have English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, German, French, Spanish, and Arabic. The default language is English, users may change to the language they are familiar any time.

Yes, the CD Library II now supports Mac as well. The basic requirement of Mac OS is 10.2 or higher.

CD Library II software only works with "Administrator Mode" in Windows 2000 and XP (First Edition).

CD Library II software controls multiple machines, how can I do it? |

Each CD Library II machine has a unique number inside the chip, software will be opened once the number has been found. There is a file called "dbid.txt", which can be found in C:\Program Files\CD Library. You will see the first line represents for first CD Library machine, second line represents for second CD Library machine. In the software you need to build database as ID1 and ID2...... When you click ID1, Slot 1 to 150, you are controlling first CD Library machine; When you click ID2, slot 1 to slot 150, you are controlling second CD Library machine.

No, the CD Library II software can be used in one PC ONLY. The Networking function is not available at this moment.
